History

Morgan County, located in the eastern panhandle of West Virginia between Hampshire and Berkeley Counties is home to three elementary schools, one middle school, one high school, and one k-12 combined school. Berkeley Springs, the county seat, is located about two hours from Washington, D.C. and Baltimore, MD and is less than a twenty-minute drive to Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. The town of Paw Paw is located about 40 minutes southwest of Berkeley Springs.

Berkeley Springs thrives on art and tourism and has been rated one of America's best art towns for several years. As a result, organizations such as the Morgan Arts Council heavily involve students in art shows and theatre productions.

Our community plays an active role in Morgan County Schools. Local Businesses are important in providing high school students with employment and internship opportunities that provide real work experience and chances to apply knowledge acquired in the classroom. In addition, official school business partners are supportive of the educational effort while students frequently find themselves receiving recognition and support for their accomplishments in the newspaper.

Community support for our students is exceptional. Youth sports programs include soccer, cheerleading, volleyball, football, baseball, softball, basketball, wrestling and several others. The afterschool program for elementary and middle school students draws on youth and community talent to provide a rich and exciting selection of activities for participating students.

Morgan County Schools host over 2,500 students in grades K-12 and work to provide a quality education to all students. The schools strive to provide a multi-faceted education for our students, and to develop their interests and talents in technology, art, athletics, leadership, and academics.
