About Us:
Established in 1992, the Morgan Hill Wind Symphony (MHWS) community band prides itself on performing a varied mix of music; from classical, big band, swing and show tunes, to the occasional march! The MHWS seeks to enhance the level of musical art in the South Bay community, to foster the importance of music in one's life through performance, to provide an opportunity for community involvement both as a group and as individuals, and finally, to provide the opportunity for musicians to practice and perform in a relaxed, supportive environment.
MHWS first started with the premise of "get your instrument out of storage and start playing again!" MHWS is comprised of musicians of a wide age group from high school students to career professionals. Some musicians are in the profession of music, but the majority of the group is comprised of members who enjoy music as a hobby.
MHWS is under the umbrella of the Morgan Hill Community Foundation, which seeks to enrich the greater Morgan Hill area. Because of this affiliation, the symphony is a non-profit organization. MHWS continues to operate by annual membership dues and donations from the public. All donations are tax deductible.
