Mountain View Bible Church was born in November 1993, from the vision of Southland Bible Church in Saint George to see a "sister" church established in the Hurricane valley. After several years of diligent prayer and careful saving, the Lord opened the doors for the purchase of property in the fall of 1992.
In the Spring of 1993, missionaries Ron and Wanda Thompson conducted Bible classes in Toquerville, with six to eight families attending. In November, Mountain View began services in an old service station rented at 96 South State in LaVerkin.
Construction of the current facility at 88 North State began in August of 1994, and was completed by January of the next year with volunteer labor from eight Bible churches in Utah. Dedication was held in March.
In June of 2002, David Koester was installed as pastor of Mountain View Bible Church. He and his wife, Anikkia, had previously served an internship at Mountain View, and are glad to be serving here again.
Because of the sacrificial giving and careful planning by Southland, Mountain View Bible Church was built free of debt financially... but not spiritually. We remain committed to Southland's vision for the outreach of the Gospel, and gratefully undertake this task for the glory of God, and in His power.
