Mountainland Association of Governments (MAG) is organized through an Interlocal Cooperation Agreement as an area agency designated to provide services to the cities and counties of Summit, Utah and Wasatch Counties.

Responsibilities of the organization include administration of the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) for Utah County and of the Area Agency on Aging for the three-county region.  Other services coordinated by MAG include rural transportation in Wasatch County (RPO), community planning and economic development activities for the cities and counties in the region, such as the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program.
