The Murrysville Historical Preservation Society, Inc. was chartered Nov. 17, 1987 to:

Assist in the identification, registration and protection of significant properties in the immediate Murrysville, Export and adjacent communities in Westmoreland County. This includes surveys to locate and describe previously unknown or unrecognized properties and preparation of nominations to the National Register of Historic Places.

Help protect and reuse older historic buildings throughout Murrysville and Export Communities, contibuting to the revitalization and economic stability.

Help Murrysville and Export residents understand their collective past.

Collect and preserve photographs, documents, books, geneological information, historical data, archeological artifacts, edifices, and any and all writings or materials relating to the history or Murryaville and Export
Communities, Westoreland County.

Promote and foster knowledge, understanding and appreciation of history in general, and the history of Murrysville and Export, in particular.
