The Nahant Public Schools provide a comprehensive education for students in grades K - 12 with a variety of programs and funding sources. The once privately run Periwinkle Preschool program, housed in the Johnson School, began its transition into the Nahant School District in September 2007 as an Integrated preschool and remains as a self-funded, tuition based program for children ages 3-5. Grades kindergarten through six reside in a newly renovated Johnson Elementary School while students in grades 7-12  attend Swampscott Middle and High Schools on a tuition basis. This contract will continue through the 2012-2013 school year and may be extended for another five years with mutual agreement.
