About Us:

New Canaan Community Foundation is the local charitable partner for all New Canaan residents and offers a wide range of philanthropic and educational services.  The Foundation collaborates with donors to help each individual achieve their personal giving goals. Volunteer leaders guide the Foundation’s work and help the Foundation maximize its impact in our community.  Building on New Canaan’s spirit of generosity, the Foundation makes careful investments in area nonprofit organizations and awards scholarships to college students.

As a grantmaker, our job is to be actively engaged with the staff and volunteers at nonprofits, to understand their challenges and opportunities, and respond to their ever-changing needs. And we do. With our professional staff and knowledgeable volunteers, we are perfectly positioned to understand and respond to the unique demands of our community. The Foundation makes targeted, high impact grants to the most important local nonprofits working to address the needs of our community.
