There are 8 elementary schools containing grades K-5; 3 middle schools with grades 6-8; and 1 high school. James Logan High School is a comprehensive school of approximately 4,000 students.

The New Haven Unified School District is committed to providing equity, stability, and quality to all of our students. All schools have been designated as California Distinguished Schools. An outstanding staff has worked for many years to develop an exemplary educational program and maintain excellent educational facilities to meet the needs of the New Haven students.

The district has launched New Haven Partnership for the Future, an ambitious initiative to reform the curriculum, raise standards and improve student performance at all grade levels. This plan will stiffen the graduation requirements at James Logan High School beginning with the class of 2003. The new expectations will exceed what is currently required for admission to the University of California system. New Haven has focused on developing enrichment and co-curricular programs to meet the needs of all students. There is a K-12 focus on fine arts and physical development as well as intellectual development.

New Haven is truly an example of what can be accomplished through total community involvement in providing the very best educational opportunities.
