Mission Statement:

New Life Baptist Church seeks to make disciples for our Lord Jesus Christ through Christ-centered worship, Bible-centered spiritual growth, and evangelistic service.

Our purpose is expressed concisely as follows: Worship. Grow. Serve.

The purpose statement contains four essential elements. Though concise, each element is important for understanding what is important to New Life Baptist Church.

Make Disciples - This is the heart of the purpose statement.  The Lord Jesus, before he ascended into heaven, charged his disciples to "make disciples of all nations."  This calling involves both the task of evangelism-sharing the good news of Jesus and leading people to a saving knowledge of Him-and discipleship.

Christ-centered Worship - Worship is the first essential step in the process of making disciples here at New Life.  The writer of Hebrews charged his readers, "Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching," (Heb 10:25).  Worship is critical to the strengthening of our faith.

Bible-centered Spiritual Growth - The next essential step in the process of making disciples at New Life revolves around Bible study.  All through Scripture, the critical importance of God's revealed word for our spiritual well-being is stressed (Psalms 19 and 119 give a taste of this emphasis).  We provide several arenas for group Bible study in order to create an encounter with Scripture and an opportunity for fellowship and mutual encouragement that is not possible in worship alone.

Evangelistic Service - Taking the good news of the Lord Jesus Christ to the community and around the world is the final essential step in the process of making disciples.  In order to fulfill Christ's calling upon us as disciples, we must not remain satisfied with the disciples we already have.  Jesus has charged us to constantly reach out with the good news.
