About Us

New Testament Baptist Church was started in 1984 by a small group of believers who saw a need for a Christ-centered, Bible teaching church in the greater Syracuse area. In 1989, Pastor Dan Labieniec, a graduate of Calvary Baptist Seminary, came to NTBC. Under his leadership the work began to grow, moving from renting an auditorium at a local school, to purchasing a building, to the completion of a new addition in Spring of 2007 which allows for expanded ministry opportunities.

We are a Bible teaching church, firmly committed to unleashing the life-transforming power of God's Word through a verse-by-verse exposition of the Sacred text. We believe that there is no substitute for the Scripture.

While the current trend of many churches is towards a shallow, superficial preaching, programs, dramatization, and showmanship, none of these is able to transform the human heart. Only the Word of God is "living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword" (Hebrews 4:12). Only the Word of God is "perfect and pure, and brings the weary soul to peace with God".
