Founded in 2014, Nickel & Suede pioneered leather teardrop earrings long before our other leather jewelry gained popularity. Inspired by a particular shade of gold leather that went perfectly with one of our co-founder’s outfits, our company was born when Kilee traced her favorite teardrop earrings onto a piece of leather, cut them out, and attached hooks. The perfect, lightweight leather earring was born and its popularity prompted us to create other styles of leather jewelry including cuffs and chokers. 

For both of our co-founders, Kilee and Soren, building Nickel & Suede from the ground up has been a passion and an adventure.
