The purpose of Niles Main Street is to enhance our community identity and heritage, foster a center of activity and ensure economic stability for the heart of downtown Niles through broad based community support.

What is NILES MAINST?

It is not just a road. It is a group of volunteers dedicated to improving the quality of life for Niles residents by revitalizing the NILES MAINST downtown district. We work together, committed to revitalizing downtown Niles, MI using the Four Point Main Street method of Commercial Revitalization developed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation in Washington D.C. Recognizing the importance of saving the downtowns of America, the Trust launched the first Main Street programs back In 1980. Their primary goals were to revitalize local communities while promoting historic preservation. We've been working the MAIN STREET way in downtown Niles , in one form or another, since 2001.

In the historic streets of Downtown Niles you'll find specialty shops, antique stores, and boutiques. Our excellent shops offer one-of a-kind treasures, delicious foods, and beautiful souvenirs. With many of these items only found in Niles, make sure to take a look at what our shops have to offer!
