About Us:

The North Adams Community Schools District, 625 Stadium Drive, serves Decatur and Northern Adams County. The school system includes:

•  Southeast Elementary School PreK-1 at 901 Everhart Drive
•  Northwest Elementary School 2-4 at 1109 Dayton Street
•  Bellmont Middle School housing grades 5th – 8th  at 1200 North Adams Drive
•  Bellmont High School housing grades 9th – 12th at 1000 North Adams Drive
•  ACCES Alternative High School at 829 East Monroe Street

North Adams provides a variety of programs and services including a comprehensive PreK – 12 program for high ability students that offers content acceleration and enrichment, Advanced Placement courses in all core content areas, and multiple opportunities for students to obtain dual high school/college credit prior to graduating from Bellmont. High school students also have a variety of technical-vocational opportunities available, including certification in Project Lead the Way, Pathways to Engineering.

Additionally, North Adams offers before/afterschool childcare options, a 21st Century Community Learning Center that provides afterschool enrichment for Northwest students, individualized programs and services for students with disabilities, state championship athletic programs, jazz and instrumental music opportunities, theatre and speech/debate teams, community education classes, and Adult Basic Education programs that offer credit courses through Ivy Tech, Indiana-Purdue University, and Ball State.
