Our Mission:
Affiliated with and committed to the South Carolina Baptist Convention, North Greenville University is a co-educational liberal arts institution that provides opportunities for higher education in a Christian atmosphere. The university strives to prepare students to become better, contributing members of society by educating the whole person through an integration of academic discipline, a Christian lifestyle, and an enriched cultural experience while offering students the best opportunities for spiritual growth, academic training, and Christian service. Christ must be the center of the campus for the purpose of Christian education and Christian character-building. North Greenville University offers a quality education in a biblically sound, Christ-centered environment.
About Us:
Despite humble beginnings, North Greenville University has developed to become one of the most notable Christian universities in the Southeast and the nation.
Founded in 1892, North Greenville originally opened as a high school that served the children of northern Greenville County, S.C. — a rural area located at the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Even then, North Greenville's students would discover various opportunities not only for academic study, but also for spiritual growth, cultural enrichment, ¯and hands-on service throughout their learning experience here.
And that hasn't changed.
North Greenville — now a university that features more than 40 undergraduate, graduate, and online degree options and reaches students from all over the world — continues to offer a quality, Christ-centered liberal arts education.
The university also continues to receive national recognition every year. For example, Forbes and US News & World Report have named NGU one of America's top colleges and best Christian colleges. And BestColleges.com and ChristianUniversitiesOnline.org consistently include NGU ¯in its list of colleges with the best professors and value.
