About Us:

Howard Johnson, and his wife, Robin began working with us in October 2004 on a part-time basis while he worked as an in-home therapist for the Department of Children and Families. In April 2005, he left that work to became our full-time minister.

Howard has been in the ministry since 1996 when he completed his studies at the Florida School of Preaching in Lakeland, Florida. During his first full-time work in Live Oak, Florida, Howard continued his education by completing his Bachelor of Theology in Bible degree (1997) from Bear Valley Institute of Biblical Studies in Denver, Colorado. In 2001, Howard returned once again to his formal studies and completed his Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible, followed immediately by a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership (2003) both from Southern Christian University in Montgomery, Alabama.

Howard is a ten year veteran of the United States Air Force, and was active in the Gulf War being stationed in the Republic of Turkey. He left the military in 1992 to pursue full time ministry. Howard has an interesting philosophy for his role as minister with the church here at North River. He says he is a "simple man with a simple plan." He sees his role as one who is a "servant to the church and an evangelist to the community." Howard brings great enthusiasm, credible Bible knowledge, and an ability to teach in a simple and plain speech to the church and the community.
