Lacrosse, a game originated by the North American Indians and currently one of the fastest growing sports in the country, is now being played at the youth level for the first time in Northborough and Southborough, Masssachusetts.
The 2000 season begins with two age 12 and under teams and one age 14 and under team. We play under the auspices of the Mass Bay Youth Lacrosse League which includes 237 teams from 72 The goals of youth lacrosse in the MBYLL are geared more for learning and having fun and less on competition. There are no scores reported, no standings kept, and no playoffs held. Northborough and Southborough Youth lacrosse Association (NSYLA) goals are to teach the game of lacrosse, develop lacrosse skills, teach good sportsmanship, and have fun.
