Our Mission

The Notre Dame Campus Chapter will work in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity International sharing their goal to eliminate poverty housing by providing adequate housing for people. This entails working in partnership with the people of Habitat in order to empower the individual through the building of a supportive community.

To fulfill this goal, the chapter must combine manual labor, education, and fundraising. It is at the heart of Habitat's ecumenical Christian mission that people from all backgrounds can together "pick up a hammer" and build homes. To introduce university students to Habitat for Humanity and its mission, the chapter should sponsor educational talks, films, and demonstrations. Funds will be channeled to Habitat activities, primarily to the homes of our chapter's sponsors. In addition, funds will go to outside projects, at the local, national, or international level.
