Oakland Christian Church
History
Our history dates back to 1859 when a small group of pioneers established what is now, Oakland Christian Church. In those early days the majority of our ministry took place within the Oakland Community. But today, this is changing as we seek to minister to the Riverside Area and beyond.
Since 1993 we have been working hard to develop a more effective ministry for this day and time in the year 2004. Both Spiritual and physical growth has taken place, along with many other changes in our worship style and ministry itself.
However, in the midst of all these changes, we desire to stay true to the Gospel Message of Christ as taught from God's Inspired Word, The Bible. Like those who originally established this work our primary goal, is to fulfill "The Great Commission" given by Jesus in Matthew 28:19 & 20. In doing so, our Church body and it's members desire to be a positive influence in society to help others find and live a productive life in today's world. Further, we believe that this is possible to obtain through Jesus Christ. Only, through belief in God's One and Only Son can this truly be accomplished.
