Mission Statement: To provide education and commerce opportunities to poultry, livestock and agricultural enthusiasts in our communities through organized events.

Oregon Poultry Swap Inc. is a registered domestic non-profit in the State of Oregon.  Our Board of Directors, Staff and Volunteers are dedicated to our mission to provide commerce opportunities and education to those in the Pacific Northwest.  Through these efforts, we are able to bring together a variety of agricultural enthusiasts, hobbyists and artisans to share their animals and wares to the communities we serve, as well as providing educational opportunities on a wide range of topics.  We have recently worked with several different groups in Washington to assist them in starting similar events in their state.

Our beginnings are humble.  The first swap - our first Fall Swap - was held in a small parking lot in Albany, Oregon in October 2009 with about a dozen people who came together to "swap" extra animals and make new "poultry" friends.  We currently have 5 swaps around the State of Oregon that range in size from 50 vendors to over 140 vendors, and are attended by 1000s of people. Within the next 3 years, we have plans to add more swaps to our ever expanding Oregon Swap community.

Over the years, we have grown way past the "poultry swap" name. Our events now include many other types of livestock, waterfowl and even domestic animals, handmade crafts and art, canned and baked foods, fresh meat, vegetables, fruits and garden plants.  While the occasional "swap" does happen, "sales" are far more common.  Our educational handouts and presentations promote healthy flocks and herds as well as helping to support self sustaining lifestyles. We welcome the involvement of 4H groups, FFA and other organizations which promote similar ideals.

In 2015, we launched our Give Back Program - our effort to give back to the communities who have supported us over the years.  This program will provide food and supplies to local food banks and rescue organizations.  We have secured a partnership with Farmers Ending Hunger and have established local connections in each community where our events are held.  We are very excited about this program and the assistance it will provide those families and animals in need.  In the future, we hope to be able to establish scholarships to give back even more.
