Our Children-Our Future is a volunteer tutoring program through Memphis City Schools that matches community members with students in need of extra help. Volunteer tutors help to make learning fun. They provide students with extra time on learning tasks and they provide a positive role model. Research consistently shows that one-on-one tutoring has a significant and long-lasting impact on student achievement. In just one hour per week, volunteers can change the life of a child. Memphis City Schools is seeking volunteers who are interested in becoming tutors for students in grades K-12. Free three-hour tutor training workshops are offered during the months of August through February.
