1. That citizen involvement is essential to community quality, and;

2. That trained individuals, in ordinary vehicles, supported by good communications can be a major factor in deterring crimes of opportunity.

Our goal is the continual reduction of crime through our program of citizen participation with the Police in the form of observing and listening, and notification through our base operator for police intervention and/or follow-up investigation as appropriate.

In order to achieve success, we further recognize that the members of the Patrol must be trained, initially and continually in all areas of street operations, and that, most importantly, the members must be aware of the greater responsibilities and duties of the Park Ridge Police Department patrol officers with whom we work, and upon whom we rely in order to accomplish these goals.
