Mission:
Perquimans County Middle School is committed to educating, inspiring, and creating lifelong learners and leaders.
Vision:
Perquimans County Middle School is a collaborative community of global leaders engaging in 21st Century learning skills.
About Us:
Perquimans County Middle School is located in rural Northeast North Carolina. As the only middle school in the county, it serves approximately 450 students in grades six through eight. Students with special needs are served through Inclusion and the Alternative Education programs. Certified staff as well as teacher assistants work diligently to meet the needs of all students.
PCMS participates in the SOS Program sponsored by the NC Department of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention and also the 21st Century Community Learning Center Program Initiative sponsored by NC Department of Human Resources. These programs provide our students with remediation services as well as enrichment activities during the after-school hours.
In collaboration with our JobReady partners (COA, Chowan and Gates), PCMS students also participate in the JobReady, Pathways to Career Success Program. Students are taught and assessed on employability skills.
PCMS was selected as a Triple Safe School for the 2006-2007 school year.
Our faculty and staff are dedicated to providing a learning environment that is safe, inviting, and supportive of high student performance.
