Pikeville College is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools to award the associate, baccalaureate and doctoral degrees.

The College's program for the associate degree in Nursing is approved by the Kentucky Board of Nursing and programs in Teacher Education are approved by the Kentucky Education Professional Standards Board. The Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association's Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation.
