In January 1987 Howard Swinson, his nephew the late Gary Yarborough and some friends got together and started planning a bluegrass festival. All plans came together and the first festival was held the first weekend in April of 1987 and another was held the first weekend in October. The tradition still continues at Piney Woods Lake. Piney Woods Lake is located 20 miles South of Dublin or 12 miles North of Glenwood Off Hwy 19, In the lower part of Laurens County between Hwy 19 and Hwy 46 in White Springs Community. One mile behind White Springs Baptist Church on Howard Swinson property.
