Pleasant Valley Elementary School is a large primary (K-4) school located in a rural setting between the towns of Gilbert and Kresgeville, Pennsylvania. Established in 1995 amid tremendous periods of growth in the school district, the school holds a population of over 1340 students. The school incorporates the latest educational advantages offered by technology and is designed on the basis of incorporating a school within a school. The building was designed to meet the changes occurring in our community in terms of both the growth patterns and educational needs of our students. Located in Polk Township, Pleasant Valley Elementary School offers 11 half-day kindergarten sessions, 13 first grade, 13 second grade, 14 third grade and 13 fourth grade classrooms. The curriculum offers students instruction in Reading, Math, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts (English, Handwriting and Spelling), Library, Art, Music, Physical Education and Health. Fourth grade students also receive computer keyboarding instruction.
The elementary school is home to over 150 faculty and staff members. The school offers a full range of instructional services including special education support and an enrichment program. Instruction is delivered in an inclusionary setting. The school meets the challenges of a continuing-growth rate and yearly increases to the student population by increasing the staff and sharing services with the other buildings district wide. In 2005 and 2006, PV Elementary School received achievement recognition by the Pennsylvania Department of Education for making consecutive years of Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP).
