Pleasantville Music Theatre. Inc. ("PMT") is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit, community based musical theatre organization. We are, and have always been, run by a highly dedicated and completely volunteer Board of Directors. PMT has the distinction of being the oldest musical theatre organization in Westchester County, New York, having opened its doors in 1948 with its production of The Bartered Bride at Pleasantville High School.
PMT is known for mounting the more obscure, quirky, and off-beat musicals that most other theatre groups will not touch, such as Kiss of the Spider Woman*, Sweeney Todd, The Who's Tommy*, The Baker's Wife*, The Drowsy Chaperone, Children of Eden, Monty Python's Spamalot*, and Smelly Feet, the Children's Musical that Really Stinks!* Our productions are lavish and full-scale, and we don't cut corners--- people are still talking about the 13 piece orchestra we hired for Sweeney Todd! (*denotes Westchester County premiers).
Our mission is to offer a wide variety of musical productions to our community at a fraction of the price of a Broadway or other professional production, without sacrificing quality. That is our ultimate goal. We take pride in our craft, and we strive to provide the best entertainment possible for our community.
