Point Arena Schools is one of ten "Common Administration Districts" in the State of California. We are comprised of Point Arena Joint Union High School District and the Arena Union Elementary School District. We are located on the rural coast of Northern California approximately three hours north of San Francisco. We serve 540 pre-school through high school students from Stewarts Point in Sonoma County to Elk in Mendocino County. Our schools include: a comprehensive high school and an independent charter high School, (co-located on the same campus), a continuation high school, an elementary school and an independent elementary charter school. We enjoy a diverse student population (45% Latino, 15% Native American and 40% other), a very talented and dedicated staff and an energetic, supportive community.

We are proud of Point Arena Schools and our rich history dating back more than a hundred years with numerous awards and accomplishments. In the last few years our schools have further distinguished themselves as State Model Leadership Sites for collaborative work on increasing reading and math literacy scores and closing the achievement gap.
