The School District of the City of Pontiac has a tradition of excellence that provides an exciting and diverse educational program for over 10,000 students. Proud of our reputation for instructional innovation, our school district continues to be a professional laboratory for delivering a site-based school improvement model with an aligned curriculum that is data-driven, student-focused and research-based.

We are most proud of our exemplary programs and partnerships reflected in first class ratings in arts, sports, technology and vocational education on local, regional and national levels. These partners (educators, private citizens, businesses, corporations and organizations) have also been instrumental in assisting with the implementation of an array of after-school programs for students in grades K-12.

Much like the city, the school district is also experiencing a renaissance. With an intensive focus on customer service and quickly rising levels of student achievement, the "new" School District of the City of Pontiac has risen to meet the challenges and opportunities of the 21st Century.

Goals:

All students will be able to read, write, speak, listen, use mathematics, think critically, solve problems, and have those skills required to be life-long learners and employable, civic-minded citizens.
