Putnam Valley Central School District are a small Community that is nestled in gently rolling hills near the Hudson River within Putnam County. Putnam Valley offers its 11,000 residents acres of unspoiled wilderness along with a cosmopolitan influence.
The community is located just an hour north of New York City. A supportive community and extensive parental involvement, including an active PTA/PTSA, help with fund-raisers, classroom activities and school supported committees.
The district includes three schools: Putnam Valley Elementary School, which serves K-4 (686 students); Putnam Valley Middle School, which serves 5-8 (557 students); and Putnam Valley High School, which serves 9-12 (656 students). Putnam Valley's 159 teachers, 126 support staff and 11 administrators are known for their dedication, expertise, and commitment to their students.
We opened our own high school in September 2000, an exciting challenge for us all. This brand new state of the art high school will continue to serve students in grades 9-12.
