Railroad Museum of Minot

Railroad Museum of Minot
19 First Street Northeast
701-852-7091

History:

The Railroad Museum of Minot was founded in 1986 as part of the North Dakota Centennial Celebration in the city.  The museum was organized with the goal of preserving the history of the railroads who’s tracks criss crossed across North Dakota and the nation.

The Railroad Museum of Minot is home to some of the most interesting historical  railroad artifacts, including an authentic Burlington Northern Speeder Car, a vehicle workers used on the railroad to ride the rails.

The Museum is constantly under renovation.  New and exciting exhibits are created and put on display to the public almost weekly.  Soon an entirely new floor of the museum will be open to the public, and thanks to the hard work of Roger Burchill, Facilities and Gift Shop Manager, and his crew of volunteers a library will be available for reading the archived material of the museum or just sitting down and watching a video.

The museum provides and open and welcome environment for all ages, and admission to the museum is FREE!  The museum is operated off the profits acquired through the Magic City Express in Roosevelt Park, and free will donations..
