Raleigh Road Outdoor Theatre is North Carolina's oldest operating drive-in theatre. This historic theatre was originally named: "The Moon-glo" which open for business on July 15, 1949. We are 1 of only 3 drive-in theatres still operating on Route 1. Drive-in movie theatre showing a double-feature Wednesday thru Sunday, including new releases and classics.
The first film to show at the Moon-Glo was: "Ali Baba & the Forty Thieves", plus three color cartoons. The movies were shown on the huge 36 by 48 screen with BRENKERT projectors shooting the image 240 feet to the screen. An RCA sound system and speakers were used to hear the movies.
