About Us:

Redland Baptist Church is celebrating 40 years of active service in the Derwood area of Montgomery County, Md., a suburb of Washington, DC. The church began with 21 people meeting at a member’s home, and now hundreds of people gather each week on our 13-acre campus.

Over the years, a church building was built in several phases and numerous programs and ministries were begun. In the 1980s, Redland established several local churches in new suburban areas in Montgomery County. Since the 1990s, we have sent a number of mission teams throughout the United States and overseas; our mission trips are now annual events.

As the church has grown and changed, Redland members have remained committed to loving God, loving one another, and serving Montgomery County and the world in the name of Jesus Christ.

It’s easy to fit into our diverse congregation, which is a combination of long-term members and people who have arrived in Montgomery County more recently. We have members of all ages – as shown by our strong programs for children, teens, adults and senior adults! At Redland you’ll find some people who are lifelong Baptists, but many are from other church backgrounds or had little previous experience with Christianity.

Home and family.  No matter what how you feel about those two words, let us introduce you to another kind of family, another idea of home.

Here at Redland, we all wear different clothes, work different jobs, reside in different houses, drive different cars,  but we live the same faith. Redland is a place where we plant seeds of faith through our children’s ministry and youth ministry, we encourage each other as our faith grows, and we reach out to the community, sharing the good news of our faith.

Our family celebrates together, comforts each other, and provides for one another.

In a world that changes and shifts, we provide a constant in God’s love for the residents and wayfarers of Montgomery County.   Whether you have lived in Montgomery County your whole life, you moved for school, or your job transferred you to the area, we have a place for you.
