Our Mission:

On July 5, 1991, a new dance studio opened in Agoura Hills ~ none other than Retter’s Academy of Dance. Founders Darryl and Linda Retter brought a positive, age appropriate program, recognized as a “safe haven”, to the Conjeo Valley. The word of mouth reputation for innovative, fresh, exciting dance spread quickly. Today, we are just as enthusiastic to continue our passion with a renewed energy and commitment to our students at Retter’s Academy of Dance.

Building on a foundation of four decades in the dance industry, we stand committed to providing positive, knowledgeable, challenging and cutting edge dance, while upholding the artistic traditions deeply ingrained in our own lives. It is vital that we live up to our Mission Statement: To guide, educate, and inspire students who enter our doors in the highest standards of dance education.

What does that mean to your child? That we will provide the best dance education possible, that we will do our best for each and every child. Our faculty members work together to create thinking, as well as technical dancers. But what makes our faculty so special and different? They uphold the high standards set forth by the Directors, and they truly care about dance education. We stand united that “Retter’s Academy of Dance teaches life lessons through dance lessons.”
