Our History:

In the spring of 1860, Mr. A.L. Rice settled in Solebury Township, Pennsylvania, on a farm which is now the site of Rice's Sale & Country Market. Rice auctioned his products, as well as his neighbors' products, at various times during the year. As word of his success spread, farmers started to bring their cattle and farm goods to Mr. Rice to offer for sale.

By the 1950s, a market was added to the Tuesday livestock auctions and Rice's began to quickly grow to over 400 vendors from throughout the Northeast, selling everything from antiques to zucchini!

Over the years, the market has evolved from primarily a produce market to an outdoor bargain-hunters paradise offering a variety of clothing, accessories, household and gift items, antiques, hand-made collectibles, flowers, plants, baked goods, and produce - all at prices that can't be beat.

Rice's Market is now the oldest and largest outdoor market in Bucks County - attracting over 400 vendors and 8,000 shoppers per week - and has long been a destination for locals and tourists that seek a unique and eclectic bargain shopping experience.

Current owners, Bobby and Barbara Blanche, continue to follow the traditions started by Mr. Rice and have made many improvements that help the country market thrive, including paved walkways, a modern indoor bathroom facility, ATM machines and updated buildings.

Rice's Market is open every Tuesday and Saturday year-round and on most national holidays.
