A small group of believers met at the former Friends Church on a cold, December morning in 1996. There were approximately 25 people in attendance. Since that first Sunday, God has seen fit to bless this congregation both spiritually and numerically.  The building at 127 Arkansas, where we started meeting, was purchased from the Friends Church.  Even at the time of purchase, there were plans in place for future additions to the facility or a possible move.

After several years of searching for the right building or building site to move to, God led the congregation to purchase a piece of property on 9th Street in Ordway, directly across from the baseball complex and tennis courts in late 2002.  Once the property was secured, plans were made to begin building and in March of 2004, ground was broken on Phase 1 of the building project.  Early in the planning stages, it was agreed upon to build on a 'cash up front' basis.  The Phase 1 building plan includes a sanctuary that seats nearly 400, a spacious foyer, a nursery, storage areas and bathrooms. Praise the Lord we are currently meeting in the new building!
