We believe that the Middle School years are a unique period of life. Therefore, the Rochester Middle School is an educational response to meet the needs and characteristics of young people moving from childhood to adolescence. Although the attainment of essential academic and life skills is our highest priority, we realize that the physical and social/emotional needs must also be met. We believe in an educational environment that is stimulating, challenging, and supportive to enable all students to experience success. We acknowledge differing rates of growth and maturity by adapting the curricula to meet a variety of developmental ages. We will provide structure for each student to become responsible for his/her own learning and respectful of self and others.
