Rochester Junior Woman's Club

P. O. Box 80743

The Rochester Junior Woman's Club (RJWC) was founded here in 1956. We are a fascinating group of women whose mission statement calls us to promote education, strive to preserve natural resources, work to benefit the elderly, and support the arts in our community.

Historically, our members were instrumental in founding many pieces of the Rochester Community and helped it develop into what it is today. The Rochester Community House, Crittenton Hospital, the Rochester Hills Public Library, the Rochester YMCA, the Older Persons Commission and the League of Women Voters were all started with the support of RJWC members.

Today, we continue the tradition of serving our community by providing funds and hands-on volunteering. The Paint Creek Center for the Arts, Special Olympics, the Older Persons Commision, and Dinosaur Hill Nature Center recieve a great deal of support, in a variety of ways. We have helped mastectomy patients by providing funds for the Crittenton Hospital Auxillary. Our recent fund-raisers have sponsored a room at the new OPC and helped build a Habitat for Humanity home. As part of the General Federation of Woman's Clubs, we help support Girlstown Residential Program, in Belleville, especially at Christmas.

Our organization is proud to contribute so much to our community and we give to each other the gift of friendship and caring, true fellowship and support.
