A core believe is a fundamental, non-negotiable, unapologetically held belief that is essential to all else the church values and purposes to do. We believe that the following statements are essential to our unity as believers and foundational to our faith:
1. We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant and infallible Word of God. As such, we rely on it as our final authority and truth source for all belief and behavior. (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Peter 1:20-21; Isaiah 40:8)
2. We believe in one God who exists eternally as three distinctive persons - the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit - each possessing all the attributes of Deity. (John 1:1)
3. We believe that man was created in the image of God to glory in knowing and serving Him. By our defiant choices and disobedient actions, we were alienated from our Creator. Because man was created to exist forever, but is separated from God by his sin, we are destined to spend a godless eternity in hell. There is nothing man can do to remedy this hopeless situation or restore his broken relationship with God. (Romans 3:23; Isaiah 64:6)
4. We believe Jesus is the sinless Son of God and second Person of the Trinity. By His voluntary, substitutionary death at the cross, Jesus both demonstrated God's perfect love and satisfied God's perfect justice - removing our sin and reconciling us to the Father. As He promised, Jesus rose from the grave demonstrating His power over sin and death. He has ascended to heaven and will someday soon return to earth as promised. (Romans 5:8; 2 Corinthians 5:21; Acts 1:10-11)
5. We believe that our broken relationship with God can only be restored when we place our faith in Christ alone as the one who forgives our sin and leads us in life. At the moment an individual takes that step of faith, they receive the abundant and eternally secure life that Jesus promised to all believers. (Ephesians 2:8-9; 2 Corinthians 1:21-22)
6. We believe that every believer is transformed, uniquely gifted and empowered by the Holy Spirit to serve God by serving others the way Jesus has served us. (1 Corinthians 12:4-7)
7. We believe that the church is the body of Christ in the world today and that she exists to reach everybody everywhere for the cause of Christ, to grow believers to mature faith in Christ, and to launch mature believers into ministry and missions across the street and around the world. (Acts 1:8)
