Our mission, in partnership with students, parents, and community, is to deliver high quality learning experiences which promote lifelong success for all student. It is important to us that Rolling Hills provide programs that encourage respect for others, involvement in our community, effective communication and accountability - all which facilitate learning.
Philosophy
At Rolling Hills we believe “a positive climate” helps students feel proud, connected and committed. They support, help, and care for each other and there is a joy in coming to school.
History
Rolling Hills Middle School, grades 6-8, opened in July 1994, with two year-round track schedules on the campus of Camerado Springs Middle School. The school moved to its permanent facilities in El Dorado Hills on August 3, 1998 and was dedicated on September 25, 1998.
In 1996 and again in 2005, Rolling Hills was named a California Distinguished School. This honor places Rolling Hills among the top 7% of all California middle school. In 2001 Rolling Hills was given an additional honor of being recognized as a National Blue Ribbon School.
Rolling Hills staff members have worked hard with the district to continue these standards of excellence. They have developed a comprehensive assessment and accountability plan which includes standards for English, Language Arts and Mathematics. Each July reports are generated on student achievement based on district standards. We challenge students through a curriculum which requires them to apply their skills to solve problems and to address important historical and contemporary issues.
