About Us :

The Ronceverte Christian Church was organized in 1885 by Dr. John N. Brandt with the assistance of a number opf dedicated Christians, most of them coming from Lock Haven, Pennsylvania. Ronceverte had been a small settlement until the St. Lawrence Boom and Lumber Co. began operations here in 1882 or 1883, tapping the rich virgin forests of the Greenbrier Valley.Since then, Ronceverte was a thriving small town until repeated floods forced many of the local businesses to move up the mountain to nearby Fairlea and Lewisburg.

One of the most striking features of the present building we occupy is the pipe structure for a pipe organ which tradition says was originally bought for a theater which burned down and offerred the organ to the church. Unfortunately, some time before 1950 the organ deteriorated beyond repair and only the pipes remain.

There are four stained glass windows dedicated to early prominent church members. The rich history which is in our church is cherished by all our members and will be remembered for many years to come.
