Over our entire 150 year history, people have trusted the name Roper St. Francis Healthcare. Anchored by Roper Hospital and Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital, our health system includes more than 90 facilities and doctors offices conveniently located throughout our region with plans to open another hospital in Mt. Pleasant in 2010.

We are Charleston's only private, not-for-profit hospitals with a specific focus on community outreach. Our Foundation's Roper Xavier Society raises funds to enrich the wellness of our community.

We have nearly 800 doctors on our team and are Charleston's largest private employer with 4,700 employees. Our team puts patients first, a quality that has led us to receive top national awards in patient satisfaction year after year.

A significant part of the fulfillment of our mission is the services and support we give back to our community through corporate, individual or collaborative efforts. Our support to the community is significant in both charitable giving and staff hours of service.

Roper St. Francis Healthcare is a not-for-profit organization providing healthcare to the public and re-investing our net income back into the communities that we serve. The 594-bed system comprises 25 facilities/services in three counties. Member hospitals include Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital and Roper Hospital. The organization is Charleston's largest private employer with more than 4000 employees. In  2008 we contributed more than 61,227 hours of staff time and over 38 million to benefit the community In addition we served over 131,678 community residents. Roper St. Francis Healthcare employees, also gave a record breaking $365,835 which is 134% of our goal to Trident United Way. In 2008, 51% of our employees donated to the campaign making it the largest Trident United Way campaign in history in terms of total dollars raised, total number of givers and total number of leaders givers.
