The Rotary Club of Grantsburg was chartered on 15 May 1940 with the assistance of the Rotary Club of Rice Lake Wisconsin. The Rotary Club of Grantsburg is part of District 5960. The district is located in western Wisconsin and east central, south central and southeastern Minnesota. District 5960 stretches as far south as Mankato, Albert Lea, Austin, Rochester and Winona, as far northwest as Elk River and Princeton and as far northeast as Rice Lake and Hayward. Along with the Rotary clubs in Siren/Webster, Pine City and North Branch, the Rotary Club of Grantsburg is in Area 13 of District 5960's fifteen areas.
Our meeting place is the conference room of Burnett Medical Center. From the intersection of State Roads 70, 48 & 87, go north 3/16 mile to Saint George Avenue. The Rotary Club of Grantsburg supports community service projects including Christmas caroling at nursing and retirement care centers in Grantsburg, a fish fry in June and a pontoon outing and chicken barbecue in August for residents of Burnett Medical Center's Continuing Care Center, Adopt-A-Highway cleanup of State Road 70 east of the village and cash donations to various community projects. In the area of vocational service, the Rotary Club of Grantsburg sponsors two young people to attend the annual District 5960 Rotary Youth Leadership Conference, selects and awards the Grantsburg area Teacher of the Year, provides a scholarship in the Dollars for Scholars program and helps sponsor a safe and sober Grantsburg Schools Prom night. For international service, the Rotary Club of Grantsburg participates in hosting inbound Rotary Group Study Exchange, inbound and outbound Rotary Youth Exchange and Rotary's Polio Plus project which aims to someday bring about a polio-free world.
