History:
The Rotary Club of Snohomish was chartered by Rotary International in 1982, sponsored by the Everett Rotary Club. Greg Karpilov was the first president. Meetings were held at the Silver King Restaurant at noon.Through the 1980's our Presidents were: Bill Campbell (1983), Brad Bishop (1984-85), Gary Pilgrim (1985-86), Dave Crocker (1986-87), John Fritton (1987-88), Richard Rothe (1988-89), Mel Mothershead (1989-90).In 1985 our meetings switched to breakfast at Harvey's Airport Restaurant. Berry sales began around 1989.Through the 1990's, our Presidents were: Bert Ainsley & Bill Nelson (1990-91), Chuck Whitfield (1991-92), Mike Lively (1992-93), Richard Homme (1993-95), Leeon Aller (1995-96), Karl Keener (1996-97), Kathy Watanabe (1997-98), Richard Frohnen (1998-99), Pete Reeder (1999-2000).Our sno cone sales began around 1991. In 1997, meetings switched to Mardini's. In 1999, meetings switched again to the Cabbage Patch. Later, meetings were held at the School District headquarters and then at the British Tea Room before finally landing at Collectors Choice in about 2004.Our President for 2000-01 was Candace McKenna. Then came Pat Knight (2001-02), Shane Richardson (2002-03), Melody Clemans (2003-04), Bob Knight (2004-05) and Richard Homme (2005-06).In 2004, the non profit Snohomish Rotary Foundation was formed as a 501c3 corporation. It sole purpose is providing enhancement to the community and it's citizens through special projects and grants.Today, we meet for breakfast Thursday mornings, 7am at Collector's Choice.
