Ruby Mountain Symphony

Our Goals
- To present two orchestral programs of classical, semi-classical and popular music in Elko per season.
- To afford employment and performance opportunities for northern Nevada professional musicians and composers.

Our History

Since its inception, 48 student soloists and over 900 students, who were members of musical ensembles, have had the opportunity to perform with this professional orchestra.

The NNCOA has had the honor of commissioning and premiering four major orchestral works: The Sagebrush Suite, The Mark Twain Suite: Reflections on America, and Concerto for Flute, Piano and Orchestra.

The NNCOA was fortunate to have had George Rosenberg as the Founding Conductor and Music Director of the orchestra. Since he retired in 1997, guest conductors have been employed who offered a rich diversity of musical knowledge and many years of experience. Many of the members of the orchestra are professionals, some with many years of experience, some just starting, and some are from Elko.
