Safe Horse Training was born out of necessity! After 20 years away from horses, developing my career and raising my family, I decided It was time to have horses back in my life. My sister found the most beautiful horse for me to get back in the saddle. Unfortunately, his beauty faded fast, as his disrespectful behavior became more and more dangerous. From stepping on my toes, knocking me over with his head and neck and refusing to get on the trailer, I was desperate for help. In 2005, I started studying horsemanship by attending clinics, reading books and endlessly watching DVDs. The biggest discovery for me was understanding how the horse thinks. Once I understood the horse’s point of view, we could effectively communicate and understand each other. Slowly, I started to develop my feel and timing, with that came a life changing experience with horses. Now, my home stable is Allison Creek Farm central to Athens and Atlanta, GA.
