A small, but regular and caring congregation, meeting every Sunday at 10.00am. Our mission: to make Christ known. We are creating a welcoming, accepting Christian community in Newark, NJ, where people can find unity in God and one another in Christ. Established September 1, 1852. The first church building, which burned in 1862, was made of wood. It was officially opened in 1855. The presnt building opened on St. Barnabas' Day in 1864. The Building was designated a historic landmark in 1972. The Ladies Society of Saint Barnabas established The Hospital of Saint Barnabas, which to Livingston on November 29, 1964.
