School Profile

Samoset School was opened in 1995. There are 600 students in grades 5 - 8, staffed by approximately 50 teachers, 13 classroom aides/tutors. The school has 83,000 square feet dedicated to 35 classrooms, a gym, a music room, media center, computer room, science labs, guidance offices, health suite, cafeteria with a stage, and administrative offices. The school houses bilingual programs for grades 5-6, 7-8, as well as four self-contained special education programs.

Improvement Goals

● To continue to monitor and adjust an action plan
that will improve math scores.

● To expand the concept of an interdisciplinary
approach to learning.

● To address safety and security concerns in the
school community /preventative maintenance.

● To foster students’ academic achievements and
school citizenship.
