Seeds of Hope Community Garden

725 Foresteria Dr.
561-252-7179

The Seeds of Hope Community Garden started in early 2010 with a group of local residents exists under the aegis of the Lake Park Community Development Corporation, a non-profit organization of Lake Park. The garden is set on a one-acre site in the town's main commercial center. At present three quarters of the available land is being cultivated, both by individuals with their own plots, and by volunteers raising produce for community use.

Children's programs have flourished yearly and have been ongoing since 2010. Newcomers are welcomed, and given enthusiastic help in creating their gardens. Our roster of volunteers include a certified Master Gardener, a Children's Program Coordinator with 15 years experience as a Boy Scout leader; a college professor; a distinguished chef, and numerous people with lifelong gardening experience. Garden Coordinator Erin T. Flaherty is effective at engaging community interest and support, holding regular meetings at the Lake Park Library, reaching out to local media, maintaining a booth with both garden and nutritional information at all significant community events.

Over the course of our recent years members and volunteers have transformed this once vacant lot owned by the Town of Lake Park into a beautiful place to congregate and collectively transform our surrounding area into a food secure community. Seeds of Hope and its member base continually thrive to bring our communities diverse cultures together for a platform all can relate with. "Growing great foods".  Supporting organizations include the Town of Lake Park, Mounts Botanical Garden, Lake Park Library, Community Redevelopment Agency, Kiwanis of Lake Park, Localecopia,  local business owners, and others.
