History:

Farmington Services for the Elderly is a non-profit volunteer agency providing valuable programs and services to Farmington's senior citizens.

Established in 1965 by two Farmington residents, Hope Emery and Dorothy Sinclair, Services for the Elderly was designed to be an independent service, identifying seniors in need of assistance and designing and implementing programs and services that meet each person's individual needs.

The organization, which now includes more than 180 volunteers, was incorporated as a non-profit agency in 1969. It has been a Partner Agency funded by the United Way of the Capital Area since 1970. The organization receives additional support from the town of Farmington, local service organizations and private donations.
