History
Through old newspaper articles that were saved and different notes and
documents along with them, we are able to offer you a glimpse into the
beginnings of the Shepherd Public Library. First started in 1963 as the Roland
Tisinger Memorial Library, we have Mrs. Bessie Tisinger to thank for her vision
of having an established library for the people of Shepherd. From that small
library, started in the back rooms of her home, to the City's adoption of the
library and it's subsequent name change to Shepherd Public Library, to today's
technology of an automated library complete with public use computers - our
library has grown into something we can all be proud of. Take time to read
these articles and learn where we began!
